In these challenging times, it can be hard to remember all the things we have to be grateful for but why not take inspiration from what the Spanish department are thankful for?

You might be inspired to take up something new or find a new way to show gratitude.

¡Buenos dias estudiantes de COLASP! ES VIERNES😎
Today we are going to learn about why the 23rd/April is that important to Spanish people: DIA DE SAN JORGE y EL DIA DEL LIBRO Y LAS ROSAS.(Books and roses day/St Georoge's day)

La leyenda 📖  cuenta que había un dragón 🐉  en un pueblo que se comía todos los animales 🐄.El rey 🤴🏾 por eso, mandó que alguien acabara con el dragón. 
Un día el dragón fue al pueblo 🏡 y atacó a la princesa 👑  pero de repente apareció el caballero San Jorge. 🏇🏼
San Jorge era muy valiente y luchó para salvar a la princesa. Finalmente, el dragon murió ☠️. La leyenda dice que la sangre 🩸 del dragón se convirtió en rosas rojas 🌹.Por eso, el día 23 de Abril se regalan rosas rojas 🥀 y libros 📚 en memoria de esta historia. 👏🏻👏🏾

Thankful Thursday

To celebrate Thankful Thursday  we would like to share a video with you from one Ms Johnstone's old pupils from Madrid called Alvaro. His record company have used the money raised from a music festival to make face masks for medical staff and he is very thankful for all donations that have been sent in.

The video has subtitles (so don't worry if Alvaro speaks quickly!) but if you want to challenge yourself, why not listen to the audio first to see what you understand? This is a great way to practise your listening skills.
